A Look at Levi's Jeans

In 1853 Levi Strauss, a German immigrant, left New York for San Francisco in hopes of opening up a branch of his brothers dry good business.

A prospector asked him what he was selling and Levi told him canvas to make tents and wagon covers. The prospector said that he should be selling pants because he couldn’t find a pair that was strong enough to last.

Levi made the canvas into overalls. The prospectors liked the pants but said they tended to chafe. Levi substituted a twilled cotton cloth which later became known as denim and the pants were nicknamed blue jeans. And the rest is History.

Jeans have come a long way since then and Levi's Superlow Bootcut 518 Jeans are a good example of just how far Women's Designer Jeans have come.
